Great piece. Sehr gut geschrieben. This seems like evidence of another lesson we all need to unlearn when we become adults and really want to step up to the next level. So many of us are taught from an early age to ignore this other self you speak of and do the “right” thing, or the safe thing or the socially expected thing.

It’s much later — for me it was less than two years ago — when we realize that it’s not the safest bet which is most rewarding, it’s not the cushy office job which is most interesting, and it’s not the life that those around you wish for you which is the most satisfying. It’s time to take those leaps the other self recommends.
